Site Credits

Things will be credited on the page which they appear. The following are credits for the images I use as graphics on this page:

I'm aware some of the images aren't loading. This seems to be an issue with either my internet or Catbox. I'm giving it time since Catbox has always worked but if it doesn't resolve in a week or so, I'll host my images somewhere else. In the meantime, I will be continuing to move my essays over, though Crystalline Capitalism is going to be more than a little incomprehensible without all the images.

9.13.2025

Been a month since I've posted anything, but I've ported over Classpecting Meta and How The Emoji Movie Failed, as well as updating my Snape bot link to point to Xoul rather than WyvernChat. Xoul was the original host, and now that its back, I'm moving it back there.

Also, I've had this kinda-essay kinda-video script on my Docs for a year or so, and I'm going to do something fun with it. I don't know how the map tag works, but by god, this is the best use for it.

8.18.2025

School is starting up again, so expect this site to be mostly dormant. I'm going to work on transferring the articles over, but I'll probably be slow to publish another essay.

8.10.2025

Good news! I didn't need to fuss with the CSS much at all to get a good result with it. I have also published the updated Portrait of a Potions Master, and while there are some bugs I want to work out, I'm very happy with how it looks. It doesn't even take up that much space on the site too!

This means I can focus on something else, something NEW! PRobably the crystal healing essay, but I might be talking about something else related to rocks soon. Depends on if I'm in the mood for metaphysics or regular physics.

I've decided that I'm going to be porting over my essays to be hosted on Neocities. That way, I don't have to rely on an external service to host them. The only problem is space, but I believe that it'll take a while for me to reach my data cap.

The good news is that GDocs exports to HTML, meaning I don't have to code everything by hand. However, I'll need to make webpages for everything, which means I have to fuss with CSS to make something accessible and pretty. Expect some some things to break while I figure everything out!

So, I've learned through some fanfic circles that GDocs is banning people for TOS violations for writing gore and porn. Considering the secret Halloween project, I'm worried about the sustainability of using GDocs (and Google products in general) for this site. I have no idea what I'm going to do.

The reason I use GDocs is because its so much easier to update essays whenever I need to edit them. I'm writing these blogposts in the native Neocities editor, and I try to avoid using italics because I can't select-CTRL+I it. I don't want to port everything over to this site and have all my essays be on there, due to how my website works and also out of concerns of using up my 1GB of free space.

Ugh. This shit hard. I'll be experimenting with different methods soon. If all else fails, we're going back to PDFs.

The galaxy rotates now. Been planning to do that for a while.

I'm a little burnt out, and college is starting soon, so expect the site to go dormant again. I'll still be working on things, but at a much slower pace. I've just been wanting to lay around and do nothing, and considering how much I love working on my projects, that's the kind of out-of-character behaviour I have to listen to.

If anyone wants to know: it was the secret Halloween project that burnt me out. Protip: don't read a novel's worth of decent-to-bad writing in four hours. The Halloween project is almost done, but I have another big chunk of it to tackle that I'm not looking forward to, but I have time to rest anyways since I need to finish another part of it.

7.15.2025

I've finally added the data I was missing to Classpecting Meta, did some minor formatting corrections, and also added a conclusion where I use my findings on other media. Very fun! I'm considering making a "cheat sheet" version if you want something to easily refer to. I'll also be picking over Home Calls the ET for similar reasons, and may make something similar, but I'm not sure yet. You can count on Vvivvisection and Portrait to have condensed versions, the former happening sooner than the latter since I'm still working on it.

The Starseed article should be going live tomorrow or the day after. I'll be formatting the citations in the sheet for a while after that, though, and I'll be doing the same for my classpecting sheet.

This means more time freed up for Portrait, which I've not worked on in a while. I've been prioritising my fanfic (I'm on chapter 3 now!), the starseed essay, and some additions to Classpecting Meta. I've also been working on the Halloween project, but it's a slowburn kind of deal. It's big and covers a lot, so I'm taking it one thing at a time. I've got until October to get it done, which is more than enough time.

I believe that, in a twist of bad karma, I have been cursed with a repetitive strain injury. I am trying to undo the wizard curse.

After asking all of my technical friends and also having no money to spend on someone to program this for me, I vibe-coded the script I needed with ChatGPT. I'm not really happy about having to do that. My take on generative AI is more nuanced than a lot of people I interact with (obviously so considering I like fucking around with it). If I had access to a human that was willing to program this, I would've done so. I'm not sharing the program because I feel like if someone were to make a program of this sort, I'd rather them get the credit for the (probably much better) code than me. I'm not a programmer - if I was I wouldn't use ChatGPT!

This prompted (lmao) me to write a statement on my opinions of AI, which is here.

TLDR: I run this website as a hobby and I write the articles on it as a hobby. I have no interest in using AI to do my hobbies for me, but I do think it is a fun - though mostly useless and usually unethical - bit of technology. I don't think it should replace humans, nor do I think its capable of replacing humans right now, but I'd rather not spend a month or six sifting through my data by hand when I'd rather be writing my analysis of that data.
